Meh.
Went to check out a couple of places that I’ve been hearing about for a while now.Heard mostly good things about them.
So first on the list was Phillipe’s in Downtown.

Wow.The dip at this place was overwhelmingly “meh.”
Not great.
Not terrible.
Just…”meh.”
The beef dip was okay. The pickle was better. The root beer was the best (but then, its ALWAYS the best regardless). It really reminds me of church style food. Which probably is the best thing going for it. I like that the place is really unpretentious, which means I will probably be back to try the lamb. or pork.
Anyways, next up was Kyochon in KTOWN.

Korean fried chicken.  Didn’t really realize this till now, but I remember Candice and Jay making this for us before and it was really amazing.
At Kyochon, they had 2 versions.  ”original” and “spicy”
Both were good. But I liked the Spicy better because it reminded me of the ones I remember from before. I would have thought this place was dope, but now that I remember Candice’s recipe for Korean chicken, this place gets bumped to “meh” status.
Last up for the food rounds was Oinkster in Eagle Rock.

Heard about this place for some time, but never got around to visiting. Eagle rock is just too damn far.
They’re known for their pastrami sammiches, and thats what I got.
Mel got the pulled pork.
Mine was good.Mel’s was meh.
The fries with the garlic aioli sauce?DOPE.
Overall enjoyed this place.  A bit pricy, but who isn’t nowadays?
